Design future-proof IT solutions with us as Team Lead Data Engineering & Consulting (m/f/d) at our Hamburg location.
You will lead our Data Engineering & Consulting team of around ten colleagues. The team builds the data foundations that enable our customers in the European mid-market to make their AI initiatives sustainable and scalable – from data architecture and platform modernization to data governance.
You will be responsible for the team’s disciplinary leadership, develop its professional capabilities, and remain closely involved with customers yourself – as a sparring partner in consulting, presales, and the further development of our service portfolio.
YOUR TASKS:
- Disciplinary and professional leadership of the Data Engineering & Consulting team
- Further development of the team’s competency and skill architecture, including the certification strategy
- Responsibility for team utilization, billing, and contribution to results
- Management of consulting and implementation projects for customers
- Co-shaping our Data & AI portfolio – from proposal development to productization
- Presales support: solution design, effort estimation, and customer presentations
- Close collaboration with the AI Consulting and AI Engineering teams as well as the overarching Cloud & Business Solutions division

WHAT YOU BRING:
- At least 3 years of leadership experience with disciplinary responsibility for a consulting or engineering team – alternatively, several years of professional leadership experience as a Lead or Principal with a clear ambition to take the next step into disciplinary leadership
- Several years of solid experience in data architecture and data engineering, including cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services
- Solid experience in analytics and business intelligence, including data modeling, semantic layers, and governance of established reporting environments
- Practical experience with data governance, including data quality, metadata and data catalogs, as well as roles and responsibilities
- Experience in managing team utilization, billing, and contribution margin for a team or project portfolio
- Experience in presales and in developing service offerings
- Confident presence when engaging with decision-makers at executive and senior management level
- Experience with regulatory requirements such as GDPR and the EU AI Act
- Servant leadership mindset: developing people, delegating responsibility, and setting the framework rather than simply distributing tasks
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- German language skills at C1 level and English language skills at B2 level
